Political economy originally was the term for studying production, buying and selling, and their relations with law, custom, and government. Political economy originated in moral philosophy (e.g. Adam Smith was Professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Glasgow), it developed in the 18th century as the study of the economies of states — polities, hence political economy.
In contradiction to the theory of the Physiocrats, wherein land was the source of all wealth, some political economists proposed the labour theory of value (introduced by John Locke, developed by Adam Smith, and later by Karl Marx), according to which labour is the true source of value. Many political economists also noted the accelerating development of technology, whose role in economic and social relations was important (Joseph Schumpeter).
In late nineteenth century, the term "political economy" was generally replaced by the term economics, used by those seeking to place the study of economy upon mathematical and axiomatic bases, rather than the structural relationships of production and consumption (cf. marginalism, Alfred Marshall).
History of the term
Originally, political economy meant the study of the conditions under which production was organized in the nation-states of the newly-born capitalist system. It first was used in England in the eighteenth century, in replacing the earlier approach of the (French) physiocrats; Adam Smith, David Ricardo and Karl Marx were the principal exponents of political economy. In 1805, Thomas Malthus became England's first professor of political economy, at the East India Company College, Hailey bury, Hertfordshire. The world's first professorship in political economy was established in 1763 at the University of Vienna, Austria; Joseph von Sonnenfels was the first tenured professor.
In the United States, political economy first was taught at the College of William and Mary, in 1784; Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations was a required textbook. Glasgow University, where Smith was chairman of Logic and Moral Philosophy, changed the name of its Department of Political Economy to the Department of Economics (ostensibly to avoid confusing prospective undergraduates) in academic year 1997-1998, leaving the Class of 1998 as the last to be graduated with a Scottish master of arts degree in Political Economy.
Current approaches to political economy
Contemporarily, political economy refers to different, but related, approaches to studying economic and political behaviours, ranging from the combining of economics with other fields, to the using of different, fundamental assumptions that challenge orthodox economic assumptions:
• Political economy most commonly refers to interdisciplinary studies drawing upon economics, law, and political science in explaining how political institutions, the political environment, and the economic system — capitalist, socialist, mixed — influence each other. When narrowly construed, it refers to applied topics in economics implicating public policy, such as monopoly, market protection, government fiscal policy, and rent seeking.
• Historians have employed political economy to explore the ways in the past that persons and groups with common economic interests have used politics to effect changes beneficial to their interests.
• "International political economy" (IPE) is an interdisciplinary field comprising approaches to international trade and finance, and state policies affecting international trade, i.e. monetary and fiscal policies. In the U.S., these approaches are associated with the journal International Organization, which, in the 1970s, became the leading journal of international political economy under the editorship of Robert Keohane, Peter J. Katzenstein, and Stephen Krasner. They are also associated with the journal The Review of International Political Economy. There also is a more critical school of IPE, inspired by Karl Polanyi's work; two major figures are Susan Strange and Robert W. Cox.
• Economists and political scientists often associate the term with approaches using rational choice assumptions, especially game theory, in explaining phenomena beyond economics' standard remit, in which context, the term "positive political economy" is common.
• Anthropologists, sociologists, and geographers, use political economy in referring to the neo-Marxian approaches to development and underdevelopment postulated by André Gunder Frank and Immanuel Wallerstein.
• Contemporary political economy students treat economic ideologies as the phenomenon to explain, per the traditions of Marxian political economy without its deterministic class war assumptions. Thus, Charles S. Maier suggests that a political economy approach: interrogates economic doctrines to disclose their sociological and political premises....in sum, [it] regards economic ideas and behavior not as frameworks for analysis, but as beliefs and actions that must themselves be explained. This approach informs Andrew Gamble's The Free Economy and the Strong State (Palgrave Macmillan, 1988), and Colin Hay's The Political Economy of New Labour (Manchester University Press, 1999). It also informs much work published in New Political Economy an international journal founded by Sheffield University scholars in 1996.

كان الاقتصاد السياسي في الأصل هو اللفظ المستخدم للتعبير عن دراسة عمليات الإنتاج والبيع والشراء، وعلاقاتها بالقانون والجمارك والحكومة. وقد نشأ الاقتصاد السياسي من علم الفلسفة الأخلاقية (فمثلا كان آدم سميث في البداية أستاذا في الفلسفة الأخلاقية بجامعة جلاسجو)، ثم تطور مفهومه، في القرن الثامن عشر، ليصبح دراسة اقتصاديات الدول - الأنظمة السياسية، ومن ثم سُمي بالاقتصاد السياسي.
وعلى نقيض النظرية الفيزيوقراطية، التي تذهب إلى أن الأرض هى مصدر كل الثروات، اقترح بعض خبراء الاقتصاد السياسي نظرية "القيمة فى العمل" (التي استحدثها جون لوك وطورها آدم سميت ثم كارل ماركس فيما بعد) التي ترى أن الجهد المبذول في العمل هو المصدر الحقيقي لقيمته. كما أشار العديد من خبراء الاقتصاد السياسي إلى السرعة المتزايدة لتطور التكنولوجيا التي كان لها دورًا هاما فى العلاقات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية (جوزيف شامبتر).
وفي أواخر القرن التاسع عشر، حل لفظ "الاقتصاد" بشكل عام محل لفظ "الاقتصاد السياسي" حيث استخدمه الباحثون الذين سعوا إلى بناء دراسة الاقتصاد على أسس رياضية وبديهية بدلا من بنائها على العلاقات الهيكلية للإنتاج والاستهلاك. (راجع نظرية الحِدِّية، لألفريد مارشال).
تاريخ المصطلح
كان الاقتصاد السياسي في الأصل يعني دراسة الشروط والأوضاع التي تنظم الإنتاج في الدول القومية ذات النظم الرأسمالية الوليدة. وقد استُخدم مصطلح الاقتصاد السياسي لأول مرة في انجلترا في القرن الثامن عشر، بدلا من النَّهج السابق للفيزيوقراطية (الفرنسية)، وكان آدم سميث وديفيد ريكاردو وكارل ماركس من أهم دعاته. ثم أصبح توماس مالتوس، فى عام 1805، أول أستاذ في انجلترا يُدَرِّس مادة الاقتصاد السياسي بكلية شركة الهند الشرقية، هايليبيري، هيرتفورد شاير، في حين تأسست أول أستاذية في مادة الاقتصاد السياسي في العالم عام 1763 في جامعة فييينا بالنمسا؛ وكان جوزيف فون سونينفيل أول أستاذ مُثَّبت يُعين بها.
أما في الولايات المتحدة، فقد بدأ تدريس الاقتصاد السياسي أول الأمر في كلية ويليام آند ماري عام 1784، وكان كتاب "ثروة الأمم" لآدم سميت من الكتب الدراسية الأساسية. ثم قامت جامعة جلاسجو، التي كان آدم سميث رئيسًا لقسم المنطق والفلسفة الأخلاقية بها، بتغيير اسم القسم من قسم "الاقتصاد السياسي" إلى قسم "الاقتصاد" في العام الدراسي 1997 – 1998، (بزعم تجنب اختلاط الأمر على الطلاب الجامعيين المتوقع انضمامهم إلى الجامعة في المستقبل) لتكون بذلك دفعة العام الدراسي 1998 هي آخر دفعة تتخرج بدرجة ماجستير في الآداب في الاقتصاد السياسي من جامعات اسكتلندا.
النُهُج الحالية للاقتصاد السياسي
يشير الاقتصاد السياسي في عصرنا الحاضر إلى نُهُج مختلفة، ولكنها مرتبطة، في الوقت ذاته، بدراسة السلوكيات الاقتصادية والسياسية؛ بدءًا من الجمع بين الاقتصاد ومجالات أخرى، إلى استخدام فرضيات أساسية مختلفة تعارض الفرضيات الاقتصادية التقليدية:
• يشير الاقتصاد السياسي بوجه عام إلى دراسات متعددة التخصصات مستخدمًا الاقتصاد والقانون والعلوم السياسية في شرح كيفية تأثير المؤسسات السياسية والبيئة السياسية والنظام الاقتصادي – سواء كان نظاما رأسماليًا أو اشتراكيًا أو مختلطًا – على بعضها البعض. أما إذا تم تناوله من منظور أضيق، فإنه يشير إلى الموضوعات التطبيقية في الاقتصاد المعنية بالسياسة العامة مثل الاحتكار وحماية السوق والسياسة المالية للحكومة والتماس الريع.

Air Pollution is the human introduction into the atmosphere of chemicals, particulates, or biological materials that cause harm or discomfort to humans or other living organisms, or damage the environment. Air pollution causes deaths and respiratory disease. Air pollution is often identified with major stationary sources, but the greatest source of emissions is actually mobile sources, mainly automobiles. Gases such as carbon dioxide, which contribute to global warming, have recently gained recognition as pollutants by climate scientists, while they also recognize that carbon dioxide is essential for plant life through photosynthesis.
The atmosphere is a complex, dynamic natural gaseous system that is essential to support life on planet Earth. Stratospheric ozone depletion due to air pollution has long been recognized as a threat to human health as well as to the Earth's ecosystems.
Pollutants
There are many substances in the air which may impair the health of plants and animals (including humans), or reduce visibility. These arise both from natural processes and human activity. Substances not naturally found in the air or at greater concentrations or in different locations from usual are referred to as pollutants.
Pollutants can be classified as either primary or secondary. Primary pollutants are substances directly emitted from a process, such as ash from a volcanic eruption or the carbon monoxide gas from a motor vehicle exhaust.
Secondary pollutants are not emitted directly. Rather, they form in the air when primary pollutants react or interact. An important example of a secondary pollutant is ground level ozone - one of the many secondary pollutants that make up photochemical smog.
Note that some pollutants may be both primary and secondary: that is, they are both emitted directly and formed from other primary pollutants.
Sources
Sources of air pollution refer to the various locations, activities or factors which are responsible for the releasing of pollutants in the atmosphere. These sources can be classified into two major categories which are:
Anthropogenic sources (human activity) mostly related to burning different kinds of fuel:
• "Stationary Sources" as smoke stacks of power plants, manufacturing facilities, municipal waste incinerators.
• "Mobile Sources" as motor vehicles, aircraft etc.
• Marine vessels, such as container ships or cruise ships, and related port air pollution.
• Burning wood, fireplaces, stoves, furnaces and incinerators .
• Oil refining, and industrial activity in general.
• Chemicals, dust and controlled burn practices in agriculture and forestry management.
• Fumes from paint, hair spray, varnish, aerosol sprays and other solvents.
• Waste deposition in landfills, which generate methane.
• Military, such as nuclear weapons, toxic gases, germ warfare and rocketry.
Natural sources
• Dust from natural sources, usually large areas of land with little or no vegetation.
• Methane, emitted by the digestion of food by animals, for example cattle.
• Radon gas from radioactive decay within the Earth's crust.
• Smoke and carbon monoxide from wildfires.
• Volcanic activity, which produce sulfur, chlorine, and ash particulates.

تلوث الهواء هو ما أدخله الإنسان على الغلاف الجوي من مواد كيميائية أو جسيمات أو مواد بيولوجية تسبب أذى أو إزعاج للإنسان أو للكائنات الحية الأخرى أو تضر بالبيئة، هذا إلى جانب ما يسببه من وفيات وأمراض في الجهاز التنفسي. وكثيرًا ما يرتبط تلوث الهواء بمصادر رئيسية ثابتة ولكن أكبر مصدر للانبعاثات الملوثة يأتي، في حقيقة الأمر، من مصادر متحركة، معظمها من السيارات. أما الغازات مثل ثاني أكسيد الكربون، الذي يتسبب في إحداث ظاهرة الاحتباس الحراري، فقد أقر علماء البيئة مؤخرًا باعتباره ضمن الملوثات المعترف بها رغم إدراكهم أنه ضرورى أيضًا لحياة النبات حيث تتم من خلاله عملية التمثيل الضوئى.
الغلاف الجوى هو نظام من الغازات الطبيعية المعقدة والمتفاعلة الضرورية لدعم الحياة على كوكب الأرض. ولطالما اعتبر، منذ فترة ليست بالقصيرة، استنفاد طبقة الأوزون في طبقة الهواء الجوي العلوي (طبقة الستراتوسفير) الناتج عن تلوث الهواء من أخطر ما يهدد صحة الإنسان فضلا عن الأنظمة البيئية لكوكب الأرض.
الملوثات
هناك مواد كثيرة عالقة فى الهواء قد تضعف نمو النباتات وصحة الحيوانات (بما فى ذلك الإنسان) أو تقلل الرؤية. وتنشأ هذه المواد من عمليات طبيعية ونشاط بشرى على السواء. وتعتبر من الملوثات؛ كل المواد التى لا توجد بطبيعتها فى الهواء أو التى تتواجد بتركيزات أكبر أو التى توجد فى مواقع مختلفة عن المواقع المعتادة.
ويمكن تصنيف الملوثات إلى نوعين إما ملوثات أولية أو ثانوية. أما الملوثات الأولية فهى المواد التي تنبعث مباشرة من إحدى العمليات مثل الرماد المتساقط من ثوران بركانى أو غاز أول أكسيد الكربون المنبعث من عوادم السيارات.
أما الملوثات الثانوية فلا تنبعث بشكل مباشر ولكنها فى الواقع تتكون فى الهواء عندما تتفاعل الملوثات الأولية مع غيرها أو عندما تتفاعل فيما بينها. ويعد الأوزون الأرضي مثالا هامًا للملوثات الثانوية – فهو واحد من بين الملوثات الثانوية العديدة التي تكون الضباب الدخاني الكيميائى الضوئى.
وتجدر الملاحظة أن بعض الملوثات قد تكون ملوثات أولية وثانوية معًا: أي أنها تنبعث مباشرة ثم تتشكل مع ملوثات أولية أخرى.
المصادر
تعني مصادر تلوث الهواء مختلف المواقع أو الأنشطة أو العناصر المسؤولة عن إطلاق الملوثات فى الغلاف الجوي. ويمكن تصنيف هذه المصادر إلى نوعين رئيسيين هما:
المصادر بشرية المنشأ (النشاط الإنساني): كثيرًا ما تتعلق بحرق أنواع مختلفة من الوقود:
• "المصادر الثابتة" مثل أعمدة الدخان المنبعث من مداخن محطات توليد الطاقة ومرافق التصنيع ومحارق النفايات البلدية.
• "المصادر المتحركة" مثل السيارات والطائرات ألخ.
• السفن البحرية مثل سفن الحاويات أو سفن الرحلات البحرية وما يتصل بتلوث الهواء في الموانئ.
• حرق الخشب والمدافئ والمواقد والأفران والمحارق.
• تكرير النفط والنشاط الصناعى بصفة عامة.
• المواد الكيميائية والغبار وممارسات الحرق المقنن فى الزراعة و إدارة الغابات.
• الأبخرة المنبعثة من الطلاء ومثبتات الشعر والورنيش ومرشات الهباء الجوي (الأيروسولات) وغيرها من مذيبات.
• دفن النفايات فى مقالب القمامة التى تولِّد غاز الميثان.
• الأغراض العسكرية مثل الأسلحة النووية والغازات السامة والحرب الجرثومية والصواريخ.
المصادر الطبيعية
• الغبار من مصادر طبيعية، ويأتى عادة من مساحات واسعة من أراضى قليلة أو معدومة الكساء النباتي.
• الميثان المنبعث من هضم الحيوانات للمواد الغذائية مثل المواشى.
• غاز الرادون المنبعث من اضمحلال إشعاعى داخل القشرة الأرضية.
• الدخان وأول أكسيد الكربون من الحرائق الهائلة المدمرة.
• النشاط البركانى الذى ينتج الكبريت والكلور وجسيمات من الرماد.

What is TB?
TB is a contagious disease caused by TB germs. TB usually attacks the lungs but can affect any part of the body. TB has been around for centuries.
How is it spread?
TB is spread from person to person through the air. TB is spread when someone sick with TB in the lungs, coughs or sneezes. It is not highly contagious. Close, prolonged or regular contact with someone who is sick with TB disease is needed to spread this disease.
What is TB infection?
Most people who breathe in TB germs are able to stop them from growing. The immune system traps the TB germs and keeps them inactive. This is called TB infection and these people:
• Do not feel sick / have no symptoms
• Cannot spread TB germs
• Have a positive skin test (note: people with medical conditions that weaken the immune system such as diabetes, HIV or cancer may have a negative skin test even though they are infected with TB - people in this category should speak with their doctor)
• May develop active TB disease later in life
What is TB disease?
TB germs become active when the body’s immune system cannot stop the germs from growing. The active TB germs begin to grow and cause damage to the body. Symptoms of TB disease are:
• Cough (lasting longer than 3 weeks)
• Fever/ chills/ night sweats
• Feel tired
• Unexplained weight loss/ loss of appetite
If the TB disease is in another part of the body, the symptoms will depend on where the TB is growing, for example swollen lymph node or joint pain.
What are the tests for TB?
Screening for TB is done by a skin test. A positive skin test means a person has the TB germ in their body. A physical examination, chest x-ray and sputum (mucous coughed up from the lungs) are done to check for TB disease.
How is TB treated?
People with TB infection may benefit from medicine to prevent TB disease. People with TB disease must complete treatment to cure the disease. TB drugs are free when a doctor orders them from Public Health. TB is preventable, treatable and curable!

كيف ينتشر المرض؟
ينتشر السل من شخص لآخر عن طريق الهواء عند سعال أو عطس شخص مريض بالسل الرئوي، غير أنه ليس مرض شديد العدوى، فهو لا ينتقل إلا من خلال الاتصال الوثيق أو المنتظم بشخص مريض بالسل لفترة طويلة من الزمن.
ما هي عدوى السل؟
معظم الأشخاص الذين يستنشقون جرثومة السل قادرون على وقف نمو جرثومة المرض بأجسامهم حيث يقوم جهاز مناعة الجسم بمحاصرة جرثومة المرض ويبقيها غير نشطة. وهذا هو ما يسمى بعدوى السل أما هؤلاء الأشخاص حاملي العدوى فهم:
• لا يشعرون بالمرض / ولا تظهر عليهم أعراضه
• لا ينقلون جرثومة السل
• يظهر عندهم اختبار الجلد إيجابيًا (ملحوظة: الأشخاص الذين يعانون من حالات مرضية تضعف أجهزة مناعتهم، مثل مرضى السكر ومرضى فيروس العوز المناعي البشري أو مرضى السرطان، قد يظهر عندهم اختبار الجلد سلبيًا رغم إصابتهم بعدوى السل – لذلك فعلى الأشخاص المصنفين ضمن هذه الفئة التحدث مع أطبائهم)
• قد تتطور جرثومة المرض بأجسامهم ليصابوا بمرض السل الفعَّال في المستقبل
ما هو مرض السل؟
تصبح جرثومة السل نشطة عندما يفشل جهاز مناعة الجسم في وقف نمو جرثومة المرض. عندئذ، تبدأ جرثومة السل في النمو مسببة خللاً بالجسم. أعراض مرض السل هي:
• السعال (الذي يستمر لأكثر من ثلاثة أسابيع)
• حمى/ رعشة/ عرق ليلي
• الشعور بالإجهاد
• نقص الوزن دون سبب/ فقدان الشهية
فإذا أصاب مرض السل جزءًا آخر من أجزاء الجسم، تعتمد الأعراض التي ستظهر على مكان نمو السل بالجسم، مثل تورم بعقدة لمفية أو ألم بالمفصل.
ما هي اختبارات السل؟
يتم فحص السل من خلال عمل اختبار جلدي، فإذا كان اختبار الجلد إيجابيًا دل ذلك على وجود جرثومة السل في جسم الشخص موضع الاختبار. ويتم تشخيص الإصابة بمرض السل من خلال؛ إجراء فحص بدني وعمل أشعة سينية على الصدر وتحليل البلغم (المخاط الذي يخرج مع السعال من الرئة).
كيف يتم علاج السل؟
قد يستفيد الأشخاص المصابون بعدوى السل من الأدوية المضادة لمنع المرض. أما مرضى السل فيجب عليهم استكمال العلاج للشفاء من المرض. يقوم الطبيب بصرف عقاقير السل مجانًا من الصحة العمومية. إن السل مرض يمكن اتقاؤه وعلاجه والشفاء منه.

The urban fabric of Cairo—a city known by many names, including Um El Dounya (Mother of the World)—is as layered and complex in its persona as the history of the city itself.
In the heart of the modern city of Downtown Cairo, the unfolding of time has amalgamated architectural patterns of various eras, modifying and sometimes obscuring their original characteristics. The result is urban disorder—a chaos and plurality of styles and layers and statements of identity; a collage of worlds past, present, and in formation. Despite the contradictions, this incongruity of styles and histories paves the way for an unusual and intriguing mixture of identity. And in this city, quite unlike any other in the world today, the concept of “neighborhood” thus stretches far beyond a simple geographical designation on the sprawling city map.
Cairo’s neighborhoods are urban structures that have incorporated in their identities the specific characteristics of their dwellers, with all their habits, traditions, preconceptions, and prejudices. The movement of those dwellers into and within the city reflects a social urban growth comprised of a multitude of layers, often overlapping, often in contradiction with the urban cultural identity they inhabit. The result in this city of seventeen million is a multiplicity of neighborhood cultures as distinct in their singular identities as the urban environments in which they have grown.
Antikhana is no exception.
Nestled in the heart of Downtown Cairo, the Townhouse Gallery of Contemporary Art (which stands at the center of Antikhana) shares its most immediate surroundings with a neglected nineteenth-century palace, a menagerie of car mechanics’ workshops and garages, traditional street-side Arabic coffee shops, greengrocers, and carpenters. In this particular neighborhood, unique in its own intriguing and eccentric right, the blend of old and new, refined and rough, intellectual and impoverished, technical and creative, local and foreign, insider and outsider, come together to form a cultural fabric that, in the alley area that contains it, is not replicated anywhere else in the sprawling maze that makes Cairo today.
Over the years, a language has unfolded in this neighborhood of Antikhana that blends worlds, words, and symbols to create a dialogue that crosses boundaries of culture, class, religion, and nationality. A symbiotic coexistence has been conceived and nurtured between artists, writers, intellectuals, and conservative male workers from the lanes. In an area where one would least expect it, disparate worlds have come together and merged.
It is this coming together of worlds, of times, of cultures and languages, that forms the palette for the work in “Museum as Hub: Antikhana.” The world that surrounds Townhouse Gallery has become a phenomena in Cairo today, instigating questions, intrigue, and the unyielding curiosity of writers, artists, and thinkers alike about what allows a place like Antikhana to exist, to survive, to thrive in a world that is increasingly subjected to the harsh segregations imposed by class and culture, sect and time.

القاهرة، أو "المدنية المنتصرة"، هي مدينة نمت وتكَّشفت وتمددت أطرافها مع مطلع كل عقد ومع تغير كل عصر من عصور الحكم، فتطورت في استحياء على مر القرون التي صاغت مسار حياتها – مشابهة إلى حد بعيد في شخصيتها المتفردة صيغة المفرد "أنا" في مجرى حياة الشخص. إن البناء الحضري للقاهرة – وهي مدينة معروفة بأسماء عدة بما فيها أم الدنيا – بنية متعددة الطبقات والتعقيد في نمطها المعماري المُشَكل لشخصيتها مثلها في ذلك مثل تاريخ المدينة نفسه.
وقد تَكَّشفت معالم قلب المدينة الحديثة بوسط القاهرة، بفعل عجلة الزمن، عن دمج أنماط معمارية من مختلف العصور، فعدلت من خصائصها الأصيلة في بعض الأحيان وطمستها في أحيان أخرى. وكانت النتيجة كيان حضري غير متناغم – تعمه الفوضى وتسوده أنماط وطبقات وهويات عدة؛ وتُشَكِل بنيته باقة من صور متباينة تزاحمت في تلاصق وثيق من عوالم شتى في الماضي والحاضر. ورغم تلك التناقضات، إلا أن هذا التنافر في الأنماط وسجلات التاريخ مهد الطريق لمزيج غير تقليدي وساحر لهويتها حيث يمتد في هذه المدينة، على خلاف أي مدينة أخرى في عالم اليوم، مفهوم "الجوار" متجازوًا حدود الوجهة الجغرافية المجردة على خريطة المدينة الممتدة في غير انتظام ليشمل معنى أسمى وأعظم.
وتعتبر الأحياء المجاورة للقاهرة هياكل حضرية دمجت في هويتها الخصائص اللصيقة بسكانها بكل ما لهم من عادات وتقاليد وأهواء وتحاملات. أما حركة هؤلاء السكان إلى المدينة وحركتهم داخلها فتعكس نموًا حضريًا اجتماعيًا يضم طبقات لا حصر لها، تتداخل أحيانا، وتتعارض في أحيان أخرى مع الهوية الثقافية الحضرية التي يعيشون فيها وهو ما أفرز، في هذه المدينة ذات السبع عشرة مليون نسمة، عدة ثقافات في الجوار تتميز هوياتها المتفردة تماما كتميز البيئات الحضرية التي نمت فيها.
ولا تعد الانتكخانة استثناءً.
وفي تجسيد حي لهذا التباين، يأتي جاليري تاون هاوس للفن المعاصر (الواقع في قلب الأنتكخانة) فتحتضنه منطقة وسط القاهرة في مركزها، ليشارك جواره اللصيق مع قصر مهمل يرجع تاريخه إلى القرن التاسع عشر ومجموعة بدائية من ورش ميكانيكا السيارات والجراجات، ومقاهي عربية تقليدية على جانب الشارع ومتاجر للخضر والفاكهة والنجارة حيث يتجلى، في هذا الحي على وجه الخصوص، الفريد من نوعة في سحره وغرابته، مزيج من القديم والحديث، المهذب والفظ، المثقف والجاهل، الفني والمبدع، المحلي والمستورد، القاطن والغريب، فيتلاقوا معًا جميعًا ليكونوا نسيجًا ثقافيًا، في الزقاق الذي نسجه، قلما يتكرر في أي مكان آخر في هذه المتاهة المحيرة الممتدة المكونة لقاهرة اليوم.

Terrorism is politically motivated violence intended to intimidate and terrify. When the U.S. Embassies were bombed in Kenya and Tanzania, Washington decided to retaliate. On Aug. 20, 1998, the U.S. launched military strikes at what they believed were terrorist-related bases in Afghanistan and Sudan. They believed these groups played a key role in the embassy bombings. Some believe that retaliation and a show of force are acts of self-defence that will eventually result in the destruction of terrorism. Others believe that this attack was merely a demonstration of power and brute force against the Afghan people.
The U.S. has formulated many points to justify the reprisal attacks in Afghanistan and Sudan. "Terrorist acts, such as the bombing of the U.S. embassies, should not go unpunished", the US administration says. "The mounting threat of terrorist attacks on American targets must be controlled. These murderous factions have untenable goals and unlimited bombs, and they must be stopped before terrorism gets out of hand." U.S. allies supported the bombings and described them as part of a global effort to combat terrorism.
Conversely, some argue that the U.S. is committing international terrorism themselves. "These bombings are not self-defense as the U.S. claims because the attacks on the embassies did not pose an immediate danger to the country itself ", political analysts argue.

ظلت الأندلس طيلة الحكم الاسلامي الذي استغرق ردحا طويلا من الزمن ، تشكل أنموذجا للتسامح والتعايش بين الشعوب والإثنيات من عرب وبربر ومستعربين ويهود ومولدين وصقالبة ، وغيرهم من الطوائف التي وفدت من مختلف الأصقاع ، لتنصهر ضمن وحدة اجتماعية تميزت بخصائص حضارية مشتركة وانسجام اجتماعي ملحوظ ، رغم ما كان يظهر أحيانا من نعرات التعصب التي لم تكن سوى استثناءات ونتوءات في تاريخ الأندلس .
ولتأكيد هذه الفرضية ، تسعى هذه الورقة لإعطاء صور متعددة عن التسامح الذي ساد بين مختلف الإثنيات العرقية والديانات المتنوعة بالأندلس ، مدعمة بالحجج والقرائن ، وذلك عبر ثلاث محطات من التاريخ الأندلسي وهي :
1- المحطة الأولى : تعايش اجتماعي مشترك .
منذ اللحظة الأولى التي فتح فيها المسلمون الأندلس ، بدأت عقارب التسامح تتسارع.
وترجم هذا الاتجاه بعقد معاهدات سلمية تحتفظ لهؤلاء بحرية المعتقد وحماية الممتلكات ؛ ورغم ضياع معظم الوثائق التي تؤكد هذا التعامل الحضاري ، فثمة وثيقة هامة لم يطوها الزمن ، وردت في شكل معاهدة صلح كتبها عبد العزيز بن موسى بن نصير إلى تدمير حاكم إقليم مرسية ، وفيها يظهر بجلاء حفاظ سكان هذا الإقليم على استقلالهم السياسي ، وحرية معتقداتهم ، وحماية أرواحهم وممتلكاتهم . ومع أن المسلمين أصبحوا أسيادا على الأندلس ، إلا أن معاملتهم للإسبان كانت تتم على قدم المساواة .
ومن مظاهر هذا التعايش الاجتماعي القائم على قدم المساواة ، امتزاج العرب بالمستعربين في كل الأماكن . ولعلّ تفحص خريطة إقامة المستعربين تدل على أنهم كانوا يحتلون مكانة اجتماعية متميزة ، حيث أقاموا في الحواضر الأندلسية الرئيسية مثل غرناطة وإشبيلية وبلنسية ومالقة وغيرها من المدن الهامة .
وقد دأبوا على سكن أحياء خاصة بهم مراعاة لتقاليدهم وخصوصياتهم ، غير أن ذلك لم يحل دون مخالطتهم مختلف شرائح المسلمين .
أما في ميدان حساس كالتجارة فالتفاعل بين الطرفين كان على أشده . ولا غرو فقد تعامل معهم الأندلسيون بيعا وشراء .
Translation - English Milestones in the History of Tolerance between Religions and Nations:
Throughout the period of the Islamic rule which lasted for a long time, Andalusia continued to be a role model of tolerance and coexistence between nations and ethnics from Arabs, Berbers, Mozarabs, Jews, Muladies, Saqaliba, and other communities who came from different zones. They all merged into one social entity distinguished by common civilized characteristics and a remarkable social harmony. The bouts of fanaticism that would sometimes occur were nothing but exceptions and irregularities in the history of Andalusia
To confirm this hypothesis, this paper seeks to introduce a variety of illustrations of the tolerance that prevailed among the various ethnic races, and the diverse religions in Andalusia substantiated by proofs and evidences throughout three milestones in Andalusian history, as follows:
First Milestone: Common Social Coexistence:
From the first instance when the Muslims opened Andalusia, indicators of tolerance began to accelerate.
This trend was interpreted by holding peaceful treaties preserving for Andalusian people freedom of belief and protection of property. Despite the loss of most of the documents confirming this civilized treatment, there was yet an important document that had not been buried by time. This document was in the form of a peace treaty written by Abd al-laziz ibn Musa ibn Nusayr to Theodomir, governor of the Territory of Murcia; a document which clearly showed how the inhabitants of this province maintained their political independence, freedom of belief and protection of their lives and properties. Although Muslims became masters of Andalusia, their treatment to Spaniards was based on equality.
Among demonstrations of this social coexistence based on an equal footing, was the blending of Arabs and Mozarabs everywhere. Perhaps the residence map of Mozarabs would show that they held a distinct social status where they resided in major Andalusian cities such as Granada, Seville, Valencia, Malaga and other important cities.
In observance of their traditions and privacy, they lived in private districts of their own, yet this did not prevent their commingling with the various Muslim segments. As for the sensitive field of trade, interaction between the two parties was at its peak, where Andalusians dealt with Muslims by selling and buying.

- إذا تبين للشركة وجود غش أو تلاعب في المعاملة مع المورد.
- إذا ثبت أن المورد استخدم أساليب غير سليمة من شأنها الأضرار بالمصلحة العامة.
- إذا أخل المورد بشرط من شروط أمر الشراء أو أهمل أو اغفل القيام بإحدى التزاماته المقررة ولم يصلح ذلك خلال ثلاثين (30) يوما من تاريخ إخطاره كتابة لإجراء هذا الإصلاح.
- إذا أفلس المورد أو ثبت إعساره أو ثبت عجزه عن التوريد أو إذا كان شريكا أو عضوا في شركة وجرت تصفيتها أو حلها.
القوة القاهرة :
- تعني عبارة "القوة القاهرة" أي فعل أو حادثة أو ظرف خارج عن إرادة الطرف المتعاقد ولا يمكن توقعه أو تفاديه ويؤدى إلى جعل تنفيذ الالتزام مستحيلا.
- في حالة عجز أي من الطرفين عن الوفاء بأي من التزاماته نتيجة لقوة قاهرة، يعفى ذلك الطرف من الوفاء بتلك الالتزامات وعلى الطرف المذكور أن يعطي في الحال إشعار كتابيا إلى الطرف الأخر بتاريخ بدء حالة القوة القاهرة ومدى تأثيرها على التنفيذ، ويجوز للمورد والشركة بعد انقضاء مدة القوه القاهرة أن يبرما طلب تغيير يبين تعديلا متفقا عليه بينهما في تاريخ التسليم، وإذا استمر حدوث القوه القاهرة أكثر من (29) يوما متصلة أو بلغ مجموع أيامها أكثر من (15) يوما متفرقة فانه يجوز للشركة أن تلغي أمر الشراء كليا أو جزئيا، ولا تتحمل الشركة أية مسئولية تجاه المورد عن التكاليف أو التعويضات الناشئة عن الإلغاء المذكور.
تعارض المصالح :
يتعهد المورد بأن لا يقوم هو أو موظفوه أو وكلائه بإعطاء أو قبول أية هديه أو ضيافة أو مكافأة أو قرض بقصد حمل الأفراد أو المؤسسات على إتباع أي سلوك أو اتخاذ أي إجراء يتعلق بأمر الشراء أو يؤثر عليه . ويعتبر التقصير في التنفيذ بحكم هذا البند إخلالا جوهريا بأحكام هذا العقد ويعد سببا لإنهائه فورا على أن يلتزم المورد بتعويض الشركة عن أية أضرار مادية تلحقها بسبب ذلك.
Translation - English Procurement Agreement
CANCELLATION :
The Company reserves the right to cancel the Purchase Order by a written notification that is sent to the Supplier through Registered Mail without the need to undertake formal measures or otherwise or resort to jurisdiction and without prejudice to the right of the Company to claim compensation for the damages arising therefrom. In such case, the Company is entitled to execute the Purchase Order or the remaining portion of same in the way the Company deems suitable and thereupon claim payment of price difference, administrative expenses and fine-delay charges from the Supplier as per the following cases:
- If the Company discovers acts of fraud and manipulation in the transaction with the Supplier.
- If the Supplier proved to have used inappropriate practices against the Public interests.
- If the Supplier breached any of the Purchase Order’s Terms and Conditions or neglected or omitted any of the obligations set forth in said Purchase Order and does not rectify same within (30) days as of date of receipt of a written notification to amend same.
- If the Supplier became bankrupt or proved to be insolvent or failed to supply contracted materials or if Supplier was a partner or a member in a Company that was put into liquidation or dissolution.
FORCE MAJEURE
- “FORCE MAJEURE” shall mean, under provisions of this agreement, any act, accident or occurrence beyond the will of the contracting party, that could not be predicted or evaded and renders implementation of the obligation impossible.
- In case any of the two parties fails to fulfill any of its obligations as a result of Force Majeure, said party shall be exempted from such obligations and shall instantly inform the other party by a written notice of the Force Majeure period commencement date and the extent of impact of same on the fulfillment of said obligations. The Supplier and the Company may, after the Force Majeure period ends, enter into a Change Order indicating an amendment mutually agreed upon between the two parties on the Delivery Date. If the Force Majeure continues for more than (29) consecutive days or reached a total of (15) dispersed days, the Company may cancel the Purchase Order completely or partially, and the Company shall have no liability to the Supplier for costs or compensations arising from such cancellation.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
The Supplier undertakes that neither he nor his employees nor agents shall give or accept any gift, act of hospitality, reward, or loan by way of inducing individuals or institutions to undertake any attitude or procedure relating to or affecting the Purchase Order. The failure to perform by virtue of provision of this article shall be considered a fundamental breach of the provisions of this contract and shall be deemed an adequate cause to immediately terminate said contract provided that the Supplier undertakes to indemnify the Company for any material damages that have been incurred thereby.

CAUSE
This issue occurs when one of the following conditions is true:
• The operating system on which you are trying to install Office 2010 does not meet the system requirements for the product. For example, you are trying to install Office 2010 on a Windows XP-based computer that does not have Windows XP Service Pack 3 installed.
• The Office 2010 Setup program (Setup.exe) is configured to run in compatibility mode. That is, the Setup program is set to run under a particular operating system, such as Microsoft Windows 95.
RESOLUTION
Method 1: Verify Office 2010 system requirements
To resolve this issue, you can verify that the operating system and the computer meet the requirements to install Office 2010.
Method 2: Turn off compatibility mode

Source text - English Isavuconazole has several characteristics that provide additional benefits over voriconazole, the current standard of care for invasive aspergillosis and mucormycosis. A key advantage of isavuconazole over voriconazole is its breadth of antifungal activity, which makes it a more versatile option, particularly before confirmation of causative pathogen. Importantly, isavuconazole is active against Mucorales fungi, while voriconazole is not. This offers two key benefits. Firstly, since aspergillosis and mucormycosis can be difficult to distinguish, the use of isavuconazole provides physicians with the confidence that their aspergillosis patients are receiving appropriate coverage when Mucorales co-infection cannot be ruled out. Secondly, overuse of voriconazole has been linked with breakthrough mucormycosis; consequently, aspergillosis treatments with activity against Mucorales may help to reduce the risk of this type of incident. Thus, isavuconazole is a reliable treatment choice when Aspergillus and/or Mucorales infection is suspected.
Isavuconazole is also associated with a lower potential for drug-drug interactions than voriconazole, meaning it can be used in patients with multiple concomitant medications, who would be unable to receive voriconazole. This benefit is particularly relevant, given that most invasive fungal disease patients are severely ill and are therefore likely to be receiving drugs for underlying conditions, or immunosuppressants following a transplant. Of particular note is isavuconazole’s lower potential for interaction with the CYP3A4 substrates, ciclosporin, sirolimus and tacrolimus, which are immunosuppressants commonly used in solid-organ transplantation and graft-versus-host disease. Concomitant use of these drugs with voriconazole requires that the dose of ciclosporin be reduced by half, and the dose of tacrolimus be reduced by two thirds, while concomitant use of voriconazole and sirolimus is contraindicated.
Another factor that is important for the highly co-morbid invasive fungal disease population is the fact that, unlike voriconazole IV, isavuconazole’s IV formulation does not contain cyclodextrin. Cyclodextrin, which is used to solubilise voriconazole for IV administration, may accumulate in the kidney in renally impaired patients with repeated dosing; this can lead to potentially toxic effects on kidney and liver function. Consequently, voriconazole’s IV formulation carries restrictions for patients with moderate or severe renal impairment. However, isavuconazole is delivered as a water-soluble prodrug – isavuconazonium sulfate – meaning that it does not require cyclodextrin for IV administration, and can be administered to renally impaired patients without restriction.
