Bio

My experience as a linguist started over 20 years ago, when I began my career as a language instructor while studying English (especially American) literature and related subjects at graduate school in Japan and the U.S. Since then, I have developed a highly proficient command of English and deeper insight into my native language, Japanese, through my teaching jobs at universities and in adult education, and my career as a self-employed translator, subtitler, and editor/proofreader.

My Past Projects

  • Academic books, papers and book reviews
  • Websites for organizations and individuals
  • Apps
  • Business documents
  • Brochures and pamphlets
  • Museum placards and narratives
  • Survey questionnaires
  • Subtitle - Company training and promotional videos, e-leaning, documentaries, YouTube, etc.
  • Movie/Theater scripts
  • Literary works
  • “Foreword,” “Preface,” “About the Author,” and “Introduction” in  George Gagnon and Michelle Collay, Constructivist Learning Design: Key Questions for Teaching to Standards (Thousand Oaks, CA: Corwin, 2006),  Tokyo: AoyamaLife, 2015.
  • Two chapters written by Cindy Seton in Keiko Beppu, ed., Detective Novels and Multicultural Society, Tokyo: Eiho-sha, 1999.
