I grew up speaking Spanish as my first language as my parents came from Ecuador.  Until I started school at age 6, that is all I spoke, read, and wrote.  When I finally learned English, I started translating and interpreting for my parents mostly at school functions, but as I got older, my parents trusted me more and more so I translated and interpreted in legal, medical, business, etc. matters for them.  In high school, I learned French and continued both French, Spanish, and added Italian, in  College and graduated with a BA in Romance Languages with a concentration in all three languages.  Today I mostly translate from Spanish into English and vice versa in practically any subject and French in select fields.  I have translated and interpreted from Spanish to/from English now for over 40 years but have translated professionally for only the past 5+ years.
