Hi all,

In pairs in which finals round voting is still underway (in the Yogi Berra contest), a change has been made so that translated quotes are color-coded according to the ratings they have received. Quotes with average ratings of 4 or more are shown in green text, and quotes with average ratings of 2.5 or lower are shown in red.

In pairs in which finals round voting is still underway (in the Yogi Berra contest), a change has been made so that translated quotes are color-coded according to the ratings they have received. Quotes with average ratings of 4 or more are shown in green text, and quotes with average ratings of 2.5 or lower are shown in red.

This feature may sound alarming, from the standpoint that voters have insight into how others have critiqued a translation, and this may affect their votes. But this functionality is conceptually similar to the "tagging" functionality we have had previously, and which by all accounts has worked well.

My expectation is that with highlighting applied to quotes that are particularly well-regarded (by peers), and to quotes that are particularly poorly regarded, voters may be able to focus in on the interesting areas, and as a result the job of voting may be made a bit easier. From what I am hearing in feedback and seeing, in terms of voting rates, steps to make voting more efficient are called for. ▲ Collapse
