Character count format XX/XX for text entry field valid globally?

I have a text entry field and want to limit the characters that can be entered. To show this visually I would like to use the character count format next to field

XX/XX

The first XX represents the characters already typed and the last XX the character amount allowed, like

13/60

13 characters typed and 60 characters are allowed to type.

The format XX/XX without any words and only with the slash seems to me universal, but I might don

The format XX/XX without any words and only with the slash seems to me universal, but I might don't see the big picture for other languages and would love to have your feedback on it.

I know it works for languages like French, German, and Japanese.

Does it work for all languages around the globe?
