Genome is the UI concept of COMPANY X to accomplish the goal of “Inspire and Delight Users.” Genome is also used to call the UI itself which was created based on the concept. The guideline below is set in order to accomplish this goal. ■Visual Design Element In Genome, integrated UI elements for visual design is used to make it noticeable that it is COMPANY X product/service in one glance. ●Dynamic Background　 When the movie is on “play” mode on device or service (or on the promotion screen of online store), background image using contents will be shown with full-screen. It is recommended to use background image using contents for media players or promotion screen of online store. ●Lean, Contents Centric UI and Utilization of Typography Look and Feel of Genome uses sophisticated typography that emphasizes contents. The light-atmosphere UI, which is created by its leanness, is easy to understand and does not interfere contents. Basically, please avoid using too many icons in Genome. ●Original, Cinematic Screen Transition Genome uses cinematic 3D movements for navigation in between UI components. For instance, screen transition is done using pan, zoom and other complicated camerawork in 3D interface; just like cinema. Through 3D movements, users can easily understand the interface space and frequent actions (e.g. browsing that goes back and forth in class structure, choosing contents and transition between interfaces) become easier to control. ■Information Structure and Codes for Interaction Touch Determination When developing Genome interface which operates on touch devices, “touch determination” that determines which UI element was touched by a user is necessary. It is possible to set individual touch determination for each UI element, however the final operation object is the UI element that is placed at the front. Therefore, constructing touch determination system based on context after scanning the entire UI elements would prevent the touch determination process from becoming complicated. At this moment in definition of Genome, there is no case of touch determination for rotated UI elements. There is no problem in implementing the system to process touch determination by recognizing UI elements as axis-aligned rectangle instead of considering its rotational component.
