My translation career started in the Mikhail Bulgakov Museum in Kiev in 2001, where I was employed as the official translator for the museum, which involved translating press releases and official publications from Russian and Ukrainian into English, and even the works of the writer himself.
On returning to the UK from China in 2010, I established myself as a freelance translator translating from Russian, Chinese, and Ukrainian into English, and built up a large network of clients. I also spent some time obtaining a number of qualifications and certifications, and to date am a qualified member of both the IOL and the ITI.
One of my great interests is Russian literature, and my translation career essentially started with literary translation. However, my specialities in professional terms are business and legal translations. I have also extensive experience of translations in the areas of education and current affairs.
Over time, the volume of work that I receive has become so large that I now outsource increasing amounts to other translators in my network, although I always proofread the results to ensure that they are up to my usual standard of quality.
