Source text - French Pauline regarde les autres enfants, à la recherche de la petite fille malade, mais elle ne la voit pas. Elle se tient bien droite, immobile.
Elle essaie de chasser de son esprit toutes les impressions désagréables du voyage.
L'église est minuscule et paraît submergée de fleurs. En fermant les yeux un long moment, on sent leur parfum dans la fraîcheur des pierres.
Une voix lui demande si elle peut se pousser pour faire un peu de place. C'est une dame qui tient par la main une petite fille de son âge, un peu grosse et assez laide. C'est sûrement la petite fille malade qui va mal se tenir pendant la messe. La dame demande :
- Est-ce que Lucie peut s'asseoir a côté de toi ?
Elle répond, un peu intimidée :
- Oui.
Elle est contente de voir la petite fille qui a éveillé sa curiosité, et en même temps un peu surprise par ce visage étrange.
Elle la regarde, et repense à ce qu'a dit sa mère : et si la petite fille se tient mal pendant la messe ? Que va-t-il se passer ? On croira peut-être que c'est aussi sa faute à elle. On la grondera, peut-être.
Elle est si inquiète, soudain, qu'elle voudrait voir la petite fille disparaître, retourner d'où elle vient avec sa maman.
La dame dit « Merci » et se tourne vers la petite fille:
- Maman sera là-bas.
Elle montre un banc quelques rangs derrière.
- Si tu veux venir vers moi pendant la messe, tu te tournes et tu me fais un petit signe. C'est moi qui viendrai te chercher. Toi, tu ne bouges pas, d'accord ? Tu ne fais pas de bruit.
Translation - Spanish Pauline observa a los demás niños, en busca de la chiquilla enferma, pero no la ve. Se pone recta, inmóvil. Intenta expulsar de su espíritu todas las sensaciones desagradables del viaje.
La iglesia es minúscula y parece inundada de flores. Si uno cierra los ojos puede oler el perfume en la frescura de las piedras.
Una voz le pide si se puede desplazar para hacer un poco de sitio. Es una mujer que lleva de la mano a una chiquilla de su edad, un poco gorda y bastante fea. Seguramente es la chiquilla enferma que se va a comportar mal durante la misa. La mujer pregunta:
- ¿Se puede sentar Lucie contigo?
Contesta tímidamente:
- Sí...
Está contenta de conocer por fin a la chiquilla que tanta curiosidad había despertado en ella y al mismo tiempo sorprendida por esa cara tan rara.
Le mira, y vuelve a pensar en lo que su madre le ha dicho: ¿y si se porta mal durante la misa? ¿Qué va a pasar? Puede que piensen que es culpa suya o incluso que le regañen.
Está tan preocupada que, de repente, le gustaría ver desaparecer a la chiquilla, volver de donde vino con su mamá.
La mujer le da las gracias y se gira hacia la chiquilla.
- Mamá estará allí.
Indicando un banco que está algunas filas más atrás.
- Si quieres venirte conmigo durante la misa, te das la vuelta y me haces una pequeña señal. Vendré yo a buscarte. Tú no te muevas, ¿vale? Y no hagas ruido.

I graduated in Translation and Interpreting (literary, legal, technical, medical, economic and business translation) at the University of Alicante (FR,EN,CA>ES) in 2011 and I finished the European Master's degree in Audiovisual Translation (video games localization, subtitling, dubbing and websites translation) at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2015. Currently, I am studying the effects of the subtitles in the children's literacy.
I am also a certified Sworn Translator for French appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
I have been working as a Freelance & In-house Translator, Interpreter and Project Manager for the last five years. In other words, I have experience with SDL Trados Studio, MemoQ, Subtitling Workshop, OmegaT, CatsCradle, Adobe InDesign, CorelDRAW, Microsoft Office, Matecat and Wordpress. Currently, I work as a full-time Audiovisual Translator.
