Texten som mår dåligt

Swedish to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature
Hi!

Would appreciate some help with this:

The main character has just been scammed by a mafia boss and this is the moment he realizes it. He is hyperventilating while listening to some hard rock band:

Texten som mår dåligt träffar honom hårt. Text när
den mår som sämst.

Thanks for your help

Those nauseating lyrics (that left him feeling queasy)

> texten might be relay-translatable into Spanish, not so much intuitively as 'texto', but as 'la letra que se sienta mal'.

I think the phrase is used figuratively as the lyrics don't feel bad, rather the listener is 'sent reeling' upon realising the scam.

Note that I had to search a while for a Spanish song with the lyrics of 'se sienta mal', but without a string of swear-words
Example sentence:

The poorly lyrics

"The poorly lyrics hit him hard. These lyrics are really feeling bad."

I think we need to accept that the author is actually ascribing the feelings to the text itself, as if it were a sentient being.
