Hello,

I know SDL can manage mqxliff files, but can it manage mqxlz files also?

Thank you,
Stella

No support for .mqxlz Nov 11, 2015

AFAIK, Studio doesn’t support the .mqxlz format used by memoQ to package its XLIFF files. Why don’t you ask your client to send you .mqxliff files, which are just as easy to generate in memoQ as .mqxlz? Besides, the dialog box in memoQ makes it clear the non-compressed version should be used for other tools.

Hi,

Studio supports the following out of the box:

*.mqxlf;*.mqxliff;*.mqxlz

Hi,

I added the *.mqxliff type to the options. Does this apply to mqxlz as well?

... no. This is because it's essentially a zip file and there is no mechanism in the standard XLIFF filter to handle this. Studio 2014 and Studio 2015 can handle this as they have a memoQ specific filetype. In 2014 it comes via the OpenExchange and in 2015 it's part of the product.

Studio 2014 and above does support *.mqxlz files Aug 26, 2017

Below is what you need to do:

1. First of all, make sure that the file extension .mqxliff is not assigned to the standard XLIFF file type definition. Go to File -> Options -> File Types -> XLIFF and remove ";*.mqxliff" in the field File dialog wildcard expression, if it is in the list of file extensions.

2. Download the app File type definition for MemoQ XLIFF from Open E

3. Close Studio 2014, and run the installer.

4. After the installation, check that the filter is activated by going to File -> Options and see if XLIFF: Kilgray MemoQ is in the list over file types.

5. If the file type is not in the list, click File Types in the list under Options and click Additional installed File Types exist. Check the XLIFF box and click OK.

From now on, Studio will automatically recognize the right file type.

Please note that with this file type definition you will be able to open *.mqxlz files as well, not just *.mqxliff.

Make sure to deliver *.mqxlz or *.mqxliff files, not *.SDLxliff.

I hope it helps

trouble again Sep 28, 2017

I installed the definition app to 2014 and confirmed mqxlz exist in file type but when I try to prepare mqxlz file, it said "no batch task available"
frustrating enough I still have not found the cause, and 2017 does not recognize it either.
