I've installed SDL Trados 2007 on my new desktop computer (with Vista). Trados Workbench & TagEditor work perfectly but I can't use SDLX. When I try to launch it, I have the following error message (in French) :

Erreur d'exécution 53
Fichier introuvable: s42ext.dll (Unable to find s42ext.dll).

I don't understand because the file exists in SDLX carpet.
Has anyone experienced the same problem or has any idea about it?
Thanks!

Which Vista version? Feb 11, 2009

Hi there,
which Vista version are you using? 32 or 64bit? Please note that Trados is designed to run under Vista 32 only.

Try this... Feb 11, 2009

Hello,

This could be a problem with User Account Control preventing SDLX from running properly. I would recommend you turn off User Account Control and then reinstall SDL Trados 2007.

Please follow these instructions to turn off UAC:

1. Go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts
2. Select the "Turn User Account Control on or off" option
3. Un-tick the option "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer"
