Hello! My name is Loubna Bilali. I am a doctoral candidate in translation studies at Kent State University. I am conducting a study that will help me collect data for my dissertation. The aim of my study is to describe, analyze, and evaluate the localization training offered in North American universities from curricular and market points of view. Overall, the study presents a three-pronged needs assessment framework for localization, drawing on the perspectives of three groups of stakeholders in the localization industry (employers, trainers, and practitioners) to ensure the development of a well-informed and systematic methodology for gathering requirements in order to improve on localization training.
As a participant, you will be asked to respond to an online questionnaire. I seek responses from translators, localization practitioners, localization instructors, project managers, vendor managers, LSP managers, and LSP human resources managers. If you are one of these professionals, I would really appreciate 20 minutes of your time. Please click on the following link: https://kent.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_55vegEOdX5Ybpch (or cut and paste it onto your internet browser) to access the study. Some participants who complete the questionnaire may subsequently be asked to be interviewed. Participation in this study will contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the fields of translation studies and localization training.
Your participation is entirely voluntary. You may choose not to participate or you may discontinue your participation at any time without penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled. You will be informed of any new, relevant information that may affect your health, welfare, or willingness to continue your study participation.
