Marvellous, and wonderful that you found time to point out the semantic differences between different renderings.

Many thanks to everyone!

Shpirt

(That's the indefinite form of the noun. There's "shpirti" - definite - and let's not get started on the five case nouns for each form )

During medival times the Turkish armies that invaded India also had strong Uzbek contingents and many of these soldiers settled in India and got Indianized over time. Urdu has drawn liberally from the languages spoken by the invaders which include Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Uzbek and Pashto. About 30% of the vocabulary of Urdu consists of these foreign words. Rooh could be one of them. We also have रूहानी (roohani) and रूहानियत (roohaniat) which are derived from rooh and mean spiritual and spirituality respectively.

Ruh

Ruh exists in Hindi and Urdu too with the same meaning (soul). From Nowwa's post, it appears it exists in Uzbek also. Probably, the word entered Hindi/Urdu either through Turkish or Uzbek, unless Turkish and Uzbek borrowed the word from Arabic or Persian.
